    Why a trailer hitch

More people now that are getting older realize they would like to start "driving" their Corvette to meets before time runs out!
In the past my wife and I always did but the problem was taking cloths or parts and if she or I found something we wonted to take back the Corvette dint hold much . Besides owning our 55 Corvette the next best thing we EVER bought was our tear drop trailer which made life easier going on trips .
I designed a simple angle plate 16' using two bolts held to the rear cross plate and designing a receiver bar to clear the body and added air shocks . Some people look down on this as tho I destroyed my Corvette, but two holes can be easily filled plus removal of the shocks can take 30 minutes. What can you lose ? 1 point in judging big deal ? I'll give that up any day for the Convenience while traveling.
OK it's not for every one but our little 55 don't even know the trailers back there and love the looks we get weather they like it or not.

We pulled the trailer to the 05 Nationals , got good responses even our pic. In the Restorer and (still got top flight) so drive and enjoy your Corvette.

Amen brother!!! Drive them and have them flight judged. The trailer hitch does not hurt anything. The cars have good power and does not strain the drivetrain.

      Hi Roy,

Clever way to get it out there and at the right height. I like it. Did you use correct Grade 5 "TR" bolts in the crossmember? :-) I agree, drive them everywhere, I do.

Curious, did the dealers ever offer a trailer hitch for the Corvettes in the 50's?

YES 58 and later for all Corvettes, I had one on my 78 Corvette dealer installed
