I find it interesting how people go by a part number buying parts not realizing that GM carried over many same part numbers from the 50's and 60's but the part is a second or third design edition . Having nothing in common to the original DESIGN . Now again on e-bay I see many times sellers selling the 53 to 55 side emblem (Chevrolet ) and people looking at (their handle) like Jay's Corvette bidding on it then resale them as original .Besides it being a wrong design it dont even fit the original holes.
I've tried many times to show members here mostly 53 to 55 original design parts and what they look like as a REAL ORIGINAL part, I know a couple guys that save the pic's in their file. Other menbers also post original DESIGN C1 and C2 parts and also hope people save them.
How many have bought a part to later find out at NCRS it was wrong?
How many have spent %25 or more ordering parts from dealers to find the same thing ? Oh! YES /I also did the same thing years ago when I was new to Corvettes.
That's what's great about this forum if your going to buy a big $$$ part is to ask or post a pic. Allowing members advice.
