'72 RPO 440??

In the Black Book (2003 edition) the 72 custom interior trim is not specified with an RPO number. One member of the C3 Registry mailed me this:

"Rob, I noticed that under the options list for 1972 that Custom Interior Trim has a question mark in place of the option code. On my tank sticker it is listed as 404BL if you are interested in updating it. Since the custom interior trim only came in 2 colors, black and tan, you could list them both and let the owner check the one that applies to his/her car."

My question is what would the rpo be for the tan variation? 440TA or 440TAN or some other RPO designation? Could someone with this option check this out on his tanksticker and let me know?

For 1972, black leather is 404 -- lose the BL that is the ECL code that shows on window and tank stickers. It will only confuse folks because it will be a different code for coupes and convertibles, with and without power windows.

Saddle leather is 421

Rob,

There's no separate RPO for any year C3 with the deluxe interior, not just '72. To designate one would be redundant as the act of ordering leather (vs vinyl) interior automatically meant that the rest of the deluxe package was included.

The unique number for the correct type of interior package would be sufficient for your purposes I think.
