I know this is a shot in the dark but I thought I would give it a try. I purchased a 66 corvette roadster from a guy in Squim, Washington about 1.5 years ago. I have been trying to trace its past history. I know he bought it from a couple who live on Vashon Island near Seattle. I have contacted this couple and turns out they purchased the car in the early 80's from someone in the Seattle area. They can't remember any specifics. I am wondering if anyone from the Seattle area might remember this car. when I purchased it, it was black with a white top. I have removed the paint and discovered that the car has been repainted several times. It was orignially sunfire yellow with black interior. At some point in time all the original sunfire yellow was removed and the car was painted ralley red and the seats and carpet were changed to red. Then the car was painted a metallic forest green color and finally was painted black. At some point in time the red interior was dyed black (seats, carpet, door panels...) The car had a non original small block motor in it when I purchased it but I think the car was originally equiped with a 390 hp 427. I would love to verify that though. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
