I am looking for quick access to a schematic for the 64 radio. This radio is referred to as the Delco AM/FM Model 985921. Apparently it has some different internals from the 63 radio (985686) and the 65/66/67 radio (986281).
Detail info I am wishing to determine is the 64 on/off/volume/tone control switch Delco part number, its range and tap ohms. I can assume it to be Delco 7290296, tone 100K, volume 20K tap @ 6k. Also values of the two capacitors and one resistor that connect between the tone and volume pots on this switch. I expect the capacitors to be .047 and 0.1 and resistor to be 1500 ohms.
Why do I ask? My 63 of 28 years (vin 140XX) has an AM/FM which I assumed was original to the car but has no label on the case to announce the model number. But the 63 schematic I just received shows a totally, totally different set up from that in this radio (info above). I have a 65/66/67 schematic, same 7290296 switch but different capacitors and resistor than above. I bet car came originally with a Wonderbar and was switched to 64 AM/FM quickly. Hopefully a 64 schematic will lock this mystery down. I got here by needing a new switch (have a 7290296) or I would never have opened up the radio.
Any help appreciated. Sorry such a long post.
