For those interested, I've finally photographed my intake manifold which was removed from the engine in 1971 by the original owner and stored. Obviously, some of the overspray was worn off by handeling / abrasion during its many years of storage. These photos depict the condition of the manifold, carbs, linkage, etc. as received. Nothing on this assembly has been changed or cleaned since I bought the car.

It's really strange how the "overspray" was built up on the boss and allowed to run as shown in picture 003A, 007A and 013A. I believe overspray on the sides has worn off by handeling and was, probably, more uniform matching bits remaining in pics 001A and 005A.
Hope this helps both restorers and judges to realize there are many variations and coverages of overspray on 1969 L71 aluminum intake manifolds. This is specific information and is not intended to represent more than what is on this manifold.
