    '60 Dash Pad Install

I'm trying to borrow, beg or steal the video tape for installing a dash pad. I've been told that I'd be crazy to attempt the job without it. Naturally, I'll pay for shipping and promise to return it promptly. Thanks.

I'm also at the dash install stage and would like to view the video after you. I'm in SC. Your serial number must be just above mine. My car was built May 3,60. On your profile you noted your was May 24,60.

OK Terry, I'll keep you in mind. If I don't get a hit on my bait I may have to donate $83.00 to Al Knoch. I know it's small potatos but I like to cut corners where I can.

        Senator Benson sez . . .

I've owned this video. I've seen this video. Sir, this video is no Jack Kennedy! Oops, I mean this video is no Soft Top video! (Sorry, this was a pretty long way to go for a pretty week joke)

Half of it is Al pitching his own products. The rest is pretty good, but not chock full of "good thing I saw this video!" tips. The soft top video is better, although useless in the installation of a dash pad. There was one interesting thing in the Dash Pad video, though. Al recommends no glue except under the windshield and under the dash. That's right, no glue around the speaker, grab bar or guage cluster.

I installed a dash pad on my 1961. I took my time and trimed as I went. It went in easy and looked very good when done. I only wish that I would have asked questions about the type of glue to use. The interior gets very hot in the summer and places stress on the vinyl. The glue I used let go under the passenger side windshield edege. I now have to remove the windsheild for the second time and reglue. I checked with the Al Knoch Co. and they recommened a glue that alows working time.
