I would like to take the body off of my 66 roadster but the body mount bolts with the fixed nuts by the trailing arms all spin loose from some rust. Any good suggestions on how to remove them? Thanks

Re: body removal
Jim, you have to get a wrench on the nuts to break the bolts free. The only way is punch a hole in the glass, fix the frozen bolt and repair the glass. Long Island Corvette Supply sells the captive nuts for replacement. You could also leave it open for future service. My car all ready has the glass cut open for such maintance(bought the car this way)and I'm going to leave it alone. Bill- Top

Re: body mount bolts
Beacuse I'm not familiar with mid years and access points I'll ask.
Is the head of the bolt easily accessable?
If so, I would reccomend a die grinder with a small wheel to grind the head down and off.
After the body is off, you can attack the remaining bolt/nut.
I did this on six of the eight body mount bolts on my 68 and worked very well.
Good luck
