    Rally Wheel Paint

Do Chevy dealers stock (1967) rally wheel paint? I know aftermarket places sell it, but they won't ship by air to Canada. Thanks.

GM does not market an argent silver wheel paint (or any other color wheel paint, for that matter, except black reconditioning paint). So, if a GM dealer were to have this paint, it would simply be an aftermarket product which you can purchase in automotive parts or automotive paint supply stores. No matter, though, these are good places to seek out the paint as, even if GM carried it, it would be a supplier-manufactured product and likely the same as you could get in these places.

I know that automotive parts stores and automotive paint supply stores WILL be able to provide you with argent silver paint in either spray cans or bulk (automotive paint stores only). However, what they WON'T be able to supply you with is the greenish-hue argent silver paint used for 1968-70 Corvette rally wheels. As far as I know, Quanta is the only supplier of that.

Quanta discontinued the argent silver/greenish hue wheel paint some time ago. As of 2 months ago they have not begun to stock it, but indicated they would come up with the proper formula and begin to sell it in the future. No time frame was given. Classic Industries in California sells it but it is very expensive and I can't speak for its quality.

Mario- I sandblasted and painted my '67 rally wheels last summer. I used a product obtained from Brandon Industries in Feasterville, PA, which I bought at Carlisle in Aug.

To my eye, and since I've had the car since new, the color is perfect. Quality-wise, time will tell, but it went on well, with a smooth finish.

                        Info available; just ask.

Lonnie, I can look it up tonite. I buy from them as they have a Camaro catalog that is outstanding.
