I've been trying to track down my low volume radio problem and discovered that my antenna is wired in reverse. The center post on the radio end goes to ground
and the shielding goes to the antenna. I posted a message previously asking how that can be and received no replies. Apparently because the answer is obvious. My question is if this is the original antenna wire and the ends are intact as it appears, is there something I'm overlooking? Like in the power antenna unit?
The antenna isn't the sole source of the problem. After searching around the Seattle area to find a repair facility I was told that the only place, Motor Radio, went out of business. Well I found a gentleman that used to work at Motor radio. He fixed my radio for about half what it would have cost to send it out and had a one day turn around for me. My situation would not be typical for everyone though. His name is Sam Sewell at Riverton Radio and antiques, 206-244-9710. Also at www.radiolinkco.com.
