My '61 pillar posts are in bad need of pot metal repair before their re-chromed. They have the usual pits but also one has a nickel size gouge caused by corrosion on the leading edge. Since I'm a do-it-yourselfer I tried a couple of pot metal fixes that Eastwood and Caswells sells but didn't have any luck (seems nothing wants to stick to pot metal). Before I give up and send them to a pro does anyone know of a way to fill in these holes? Would brazing or welding work? Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
