Try a little waterless hand cleaner and a sponge to remove the grease - then you can brighten it up will a light touch with brillo and water. Worked wonders on my Goldstripe Cokers

Has anyone tried Westleys Bleach White on gold or redlines? If the tires are true red/gold rubber and not the grind down paint on type, I would think this product would work well as on whitewalls or white letters....just curious. I have a set of Coker redlines that I have installed on the wheels, but have not mounted on the car yet..Craig

                Westley's

I use the Westley's on my Diamondback Classics redlines all the time and it works great. I've never tried lacquer thinner, band really see no need to do so.

                        Re: Westley's

New tires typically have a lot of mold release agent on them. That's the stuff that eventually turns brown. I've found that mineral spirits is the best way to remove it, and Westleys Bleach-White is excellent for keeping the tires clean after that, but don't get it on bare aluminum wheels. Westley's has phosphoric acid in it, and it will etch uncoated aluminum.

Thx Patrick and Duke! I have always had great luck with Westleys on all my other tires, and just assumed it would be fine for the redlines too. Thx for the tip on the mineral spirits to get the mold release agent off...Craig
