Did the zone for the Nashville Tenn area change from 22 to 17 during the 70's, 80's or 90's? In the NCRS Dealer Codes database Jim Reed Chevrolet's code is shown as 22-523 for 1970. Zone=22 and dealer number =523. In the GM dealer current database it is shown as 17523. I am wondering about the zone information since I am trying to figure out the dealer number for Capitol Chevrolet in Nashville for the year 1973. Today's dealer code for Capitol is 17096.

In the time frame of 1973, a Nashville dealer would have been in Chev. Zone #22 (Louisville, KY). That Zone (#22) closed sometime after 1982, probably being absorbed into Zone #17 (Memphis, TN), which was still an open zone in 1994.

Is there any way to ascertain the code(s) for a dealer who has long since gone out of business? For instance, I added the Santa Fe Motor Co., 418 Cerrillos Rd., Santa Fe, NM, 87501 this week but I have no idea what the dealer code was.
This dealer either went out of business or the franchise was sold and the name changed back in the early eighties.
