My 1966 powerglide is very noisy at idle only (no load). As soon as I shift to drive/reverse the noise disappears. I have the powerglide at a specialist on automatic transmissions right now and he have never seen this problem before.
The powerglide is set up in a test bench and the noise is significant. He has had the box opened several times without success to locate the source of the problem. He tested to replace the pump without success. Next action will be to replace all the needle bearings. Have anyone experienced this problem and have an idea on what could be the problem. Any idea is appreciated.
