C2 Frame Cracks

Just had my 1967 aligned, everything is fine. The tech said he had seen alot of mid years over the years with front frame cracks. A combination of brittleness with age and the torque of the motors. He also said a relatively easy but expensive fix.

Any truth to this observation ?

I have seen a few high horse big blocks with broken welds at at the lower control arm mtg.brkt. most of these cars had drag race history . Bill

Yes, I have seen many of them. The most common places are the lower control arm brackets and under and around the front cross member and the spring towers. They are more common on heavy suspended cars but regular ones are suceptable too especially if your are fond of jumping speed bumps. If caught early they shouldnt be very expensive to fix.
