    radio

I bought an am/fm mono radio at a swap meet. The number on the faceplate is 7303275. The serial number on the label is 1000748. The product number is 9344651. The service number is 41***P2 (torn label). The dial numbers look white to me. Is this radio acceptable for a 72?

    Thanks

    Re: radio

White face number depict 72-75,Green are 68-71,Knobs are different for 68 though! 72-75 have sign or picture knobs, If the originals are still on! Not good on #'s like the rest on here, I usally just ask ?????, But have been looking for a while for a radio also! Have the original mono for my 71, but wanted a stereo one, Be careful looking, found some with original balance rings for mono's that aren't made to turn! Look for the little green Fm indicater lite and the extra wires with different colors, some just have more green ones for the left/right hook up! The amps are needed and are diff., the stereo one is called a ADAPTER by GM, and the mono is called a CONVECTER! the stereo one has 2 Transistors vs 1! Good luck and some one else on here I'm sure will help more, it's amazing! Larry PS I do have an extra 68/71 mono, and a stereo 72/75 radio, I got on EBAY trying to find the right one for mine!

GM #9344651 is the 1974-76 Corvette mono radio. It is basically the same as the 72-73 radio, GM #7937571, except for very slight differences in the script on the dial glass. However, there may be some other differences that I am unaware of.

        Re: radio

Gentlemen, thanks for the response and help, I just tried it and it works. I think I'll install it tomorrow, It looks much better than the late 70's after market radio installed now.
