I am installing the inside heater box and the heater duct by the radio and windshield. When I try to put it togeteher I have 3/4 of an inch gap between the box and the vent I really don't have any more play to go up any higher? Is there supposed to be a gap? What am I doing wrong? The holes that the studs going through the firewall have little play also. It all looks like it is fitting right. How can I get this to move up? The metal piece that comes off of the heater box (that is on the inside of the firewall)restricts the the box from going higher because it attaches to a stud also. Thanks for any insight

If you mean the gap between the upper heater box outlet and the inlet of the defroster duct, the gap is there by design (to prevent transmission of the blower motor vibration to the instrument panel via the defroster duct); attach the heater box at the inboard stud location first, then make the other attachments.- Top
