OK. I know I asked the same question a couple of months ago, but I'm not sure I came across clearly enough. I bought new e brake cables for my '63 a while ago. They came in GM boxes. At both ends of the left cable and at the rear end only of the right cable are convex washers about .875 diameter, black phosphate finish, where the cable enters the center crossmember or backing plate. The front end of the right side cable did not have such a washer and I had no trouble installing the "horse shoe" clip where the cable enters the frame. I see no way of installing clips at the 3 other places where the washers are and if there was enough play in the connection, I wouldn't know if the clip would go under the washer or over it. Is the washer style cable a design improvement to eliminate the need for the clips? Has anyone else had success installing clips over or under the washers? I'll try to take some digital pictures tomorrow if anyone is interested. Thanks in advance, Pete!
