I'm searching for a shop/person to fully restore a 3810. This carb is mostly complete, but has heat warpage, bowl lead plug leaks, loose throttle shafts, etc. Anybody have any RECENT personal experience (good/bad) that they would like to comment on? I'm concerned about quality work and reasonable turn-around time. Names that I've seen on the DB include Jerry Luck, Craig Woodruff, among others. Thanks.

Re: Referrals for 1967 Holley 3810 Carb Restoratio
I am in the same position....I have used Jerry Luck with outstanding results, as he machines baseplates and metering blocks flat in his restoration process. However, I have heard he is backed up about a year. John Hinkley has used Jerry MacNeish and has had excelllent results, you can see his engine compartment on a link in his profile on his Z28 Camaro. I think I will used him....I don't know how Craig Woodruff's work compares.....Craig- Top

Re: I'll second Bob Kunz
Bob did my '57 2x4 WCFB's, and they were flawless. Jerry Luck built me a 3810 a few months ago, and it's simply stunning; Jerry is VERY busy, however, and is always backed up as a result. Jerry MacNeish did my '69 Z/28 4053-DZ Holley, and it's a thing of beauty too. Haven't seen any of Craig Woodruff's work personally, but I've seen several posts over on CF from folks that are very pleased with it.- Top

Re: Referrals for 1967 Holley 3810 Carb Restoratio
In general, how much does it cost to have a Holley 4160 type restored by one of
the more well known carb rebuilders? I understand it depends on the condition
of the carb and parts needed....but what's the going rate for a complete carb.,
in decent shape?
Thanks

As you say, it depends on the individual rebuilder/restorer and the condition of your core, but ball-park prices generally run $150-$250 for a "street rebuild", add $100 for an "NCRS Restore" (all parts correctly colored/plated as original), and $500-$700 for an NCRS-correct build-from-scratch correctly-dated carb (assuming you have no core).- Top

Re: Referrals for 1967 Holley 3810 Carb Restoratio
John- I talked to Bob Kunz this week. Very helpfull on the phone. He stated $300 for a street rebuild and another $100 for plating/coloring. Turnaround time was 1 week for the street and 4 weeks for the restoration.
Thanks for all the replies.
