Why did Chevrolet change the recommendation for big block solid lifter valve lash? The 1966 Chassis Service Manual says the 425HP engine should have .024 exhaust and .020 intake. The '67 and later materials, including the Power Manual recommend .028 exhaust and .024 intake. Will either set of numbers work on all these engines, or is there a reason the '66 specified tighter clearance? What are the pros and cons (again)? Thanks for any inputs.
