    66-427/425hp Correct Engine Painting

I am interested in the "correct" way to paint my engine. What items were on the engine besides the intake, exhaust and possibly the bellhousing.

I am assuming the engine should be assembled so the gaskets will have to be painted too. Does the waterpump get painted on the engine?

Are the intake/valvecover/and oilpan gaskets that C/Central sells correct?

A recommendation on a brand of paint?

    Thanks!

John, If you can borrow or have a copy of "Corvette News" Volume 9 #5, there is a full article from the engine plant on the way the engine was assembled, including a picture of the engine painting line! To answer your question more directly, water pump and exhaust manifolds were on the engine. The intake manifold was covered with a mask. A description of the process is also included. Ihope this helps
