I just finished removing the undercoating from my '68 and a lot of the asphalt frame paint came with it. There is no rust and I was wondering what have others done to spot paint the frame with the body on? I thought spraying it would get the mist onto unwanted surfaces. Thanks for sharing your experience on how do do this.

Re: Frame On Restoration Technique
Bill, I get a few rolls of masking tape in different widths, and some news paper and tape of the areas you want to start, anything that's gets a little over spray you can use some mineral sprits to wipe the excess. best to sometimes remove some of the easy pieces that can be removed. If your planning on rebuilding the front and rear suspension then it will make the task a little easier with these pieces out of the way It opens up a lot of space. good luck EdNew England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top

Re: Frame On Restoration Technique
Hi William,
Member Bill Lennox is presently doing a pretty terrific body on restoration on a very nice 70, L-46 car in his garage at home.
You might want to contact him for some suggestions and pointers on what he's run into and the methods and solutions he's discovered.
Good Luck!
