    C2 J-Clip location for Speedometer

There is a J-clip on the firewall of my 67 for the speedometer cable on the 4-Speed car. The J-clip is called out in the 1967 AIM UPC (M-20,M21, M-22) sheet A4. See picture attached. The rivet to hold the clip on my 67 is missing. The J-clip is still on the Speedometer cable. There are a couple of holes in the firewall that appear to be the correct size for the rivet, but I'm not sure which one is correct.

In the AIM sheet pictured, There are two dimensions given, 2.90 inches left of a vertical line, and 1.12 inches above a horizontal line. The vertical starting line is labelled as 5 F.V. in a circle, and the horizontal starting line labelled 15 E.L., are at least that's what they look like to me.

Can someone tell me what the 5 F.V. and the 15 E.L. signify?

    Thanks,

    Don

They are "Datum Checking Dimensions" In the '65 AIM, they're found under UPC 1 Bolt Weld, Sheets, C2, C5, C7, C9. With those coordinates you should be able to correctly identify any point on the car body (in theory).

Don, I had similar issues some time ago about the clip at that location. Not sure about those references but may be datum points.

See this post and the reply from John following.

Thanks, I found the pages in the AIM. At first glance I don't have a clue how to decipher them, but I'll sleep on it.
