replacing plastic slide on parking break handle of my 1967

The plastic slide on the parking break handle of my 67 coupe is damaged and in need of replacement. I bought a new slide from CC that must be cut to the correct length. I will have a friend install it, as I can't see to do it. What and how is the disassembly required to install the new slide? Thanks in advance.

Remove the plastic "parking brake cover" that covers the tunnel. There are a couple of screws near the lower front and a couple of bolts accessible from the "jack" area. The "plastic slide" will slide out of the forward edge of the cover. When installing the new slide the bumps should be "up" and the "cut" to get the slide around the brake lever should be on the passenger side.
