    Lyle,

Thanks for the info even though it is very bad news. John was a tremendous asset to the hobby!!! I can tell he was a super nice guy, although I never met him personally. I wish I would have!!!

Rest in peace John! My heart goes out to his family. My prayers are with them.

    Joe

I just took my '64 L76 roadster out for a tribute drive, rapped it up to 7000 rpm for him, hope he heard it, RIP great man.

As I recall I met John about 1985. He was a warm and friendly Corvette friend, we will all miss him.

              Blessings!

Absolutely shocking news that saddens me to my core. Some losses of friends I can bear, if with great difficulty. This is one that I really cannot bear.

                    Re: John Hinckley

Lyle, where are you seeing that he's passed? I've read every thread over there and none confirm his death. The last I heard, he was in an outside hospice. Kurt (Sonen) from the Camaro Research Group went over on the 15th and had a short (about a half hour) visit with him. He understood that he'd die there and said he was at peace and was happy to go this way (vs doctors and procedures).

Can someone actually confirm he's gone?

Sad news indeed, a man that had first hand knowledge of how our beloved toys were put together. I never had an opportunity to meet him in person. From my experiences on this forum he was always quick to answer ANY question I asked about C2 assembly process. A true Corvette great! RIP John.

In the following posts are some videos made about John when he was inducted into the Corvette Hall Of Fame in 2009.
