My original owner 1996 makes a noise under the hood when I turn on/off the parking lights with the engine not running. It makes the same noise when I disconnect or connect the negative battery cable. I have not determined the exact location, but believe the noise is coming from the drivers side of the under hood area. Anyone heard a noise doing the disconnect/connect of the negative battery cable or turning on the parking lamps from a 1996 Corvette or earlier model year?

Mathew I don't know what you heard with your 92 and what the sound is like with your 95 when you connect the battery. Try just only turning on the parking lamps to see if you get a noise. I only turned on the parking lamps to read what my 96's mileage was when I got the noise. The noise is a sound like something is trying to being activated for a few seconds.- Top

John the headlight motors are not that difficult to disconnect. I think I will disconnect the drivers side headlight motor for a test. I have disconnected/connected the battery a few times in the last 20+ years and did not hear this sound.- Top

Paul I am going to test my parking light operation again and verify the noise when they are turned on then off. Did you know that turning on the parking lights will let you get the mileage without the ignition being used?- Top
