I am confused! I thought the Copper car from Mississippi was 480, it is a 5D7 but appears to be a functioning Vacuum advance. this one may be a 1116104 vacuum advance. I have an 855 with no advance on it thanks RDR

the only operating vacuum advance used on a 55 corvette is 1116085. that number is stamped on the top flat of the vacuum advance. that was the only vacuum advance used on the 847 distributor up to the first week of January 55, meaning there could have been 500,000, 1116085 vacuum advances used. following that you will find vacuum advances with #085 and #100 on the vacuum advances that are used on the 847 distributor for the remainder of the 1955 chevy car and truck run. the #104 does not appear until after the 1955 run and can usually be spotted by the hole in the vacuum advance bracket.

changes: wiper arms, clamps, hoses, no heater shutoff, no engine ground cable, no washer jar and bracket, no AC on fuel pump, no heater motor. also a lot of changes in heater hoses. at water pump a smaller hose is used and that hose is tied to a larger heater hose. there was probably a change in the water pump. as the heater hoses enter firewall they have been redirected from the original position and a plate is added. if this is a heater delete setup I hope someone will respond. items added are the passenger mirror and oil filter.

              Ronnie,

Here's a pic of the 1955 that was bought in Mississippi.

And the 55 of the pictures above.

Mid June build, looks like a great project. I don't see anything that cant be corrected easily on this car. I have done over 40 corvettes and other muscle cars and would love to have a project like this one!!!!! thanks for sharing Ronnie
