Need help fast ! Battery for a 1967

I need a "correct" battery for a March build 1967 427 Aircoupe! Will pay for fast shipping for correct unit! I believe it is a Delco 59. Thanks, Wade Russell 256-468-8353c.

Yes sir! Ordered correct one from Tom @ Restoration Battery back in first week of August. He received all his orders from the battery factory EXCEPT R59`s !! I am up against a deadline for Bloomington Gold at Charlotte,NC about 10days from now! Aaarrgghh

Call the manufacturer directly and eliminate the middleman. http://www.antiqueautobattery.com/

Your next best bet is an AC Delco battery from your FLAPS with removable caps. Just be sure to get the one with top post ONLY, not the dual terminal. That will not yield you 100% originality, but it will give you enough originality points to get condition points.

Thank you Terry. Do appreciate the input. I will do just that, if no one pops up with an R59 in next week or so!

The reproduction is going to lose 10 points in judging. Not trying to be Debbie Downer but, it is easily distinguishable from original. I point this out in case you are thinking the repop will get full credit (by a knowledgeable judge.)

Have fun in CLT. I'll be there, too.

If you note, he's taking it to (Charlotte) Gold, so the rules are different than NCRS.

Isn't there someone in northern Alabama or in the Charlotte area that could loan Wade a R59 battery for a few days?

I was having the same panic attack trying to find an R59 for my 67 that I am preparing for a chapter event in a couple of weeks. All the main sources were backordered. I started making calls and found one in stock at a Camaro parts shop who shipped it the same day.
