I have been trying to source correct Pivot Shafts for my Control Arms.
I have been searching for Corvette 53-62 and Chevy Passenger cars 49-54 Pivot Shaft, Steering Knuckle, Upper Bolt Kit, etc.
In a couple hours I found NOS parts for 6 of the 8 pivot shafts on my control arms and they were priced within 10% of what reproductions would cost me.
Here are photos of what came on my car which look identical to the reproductions sold by CC (photo with pink background). I have also included photos of the 2 NOS or NORS Upper Outer Pivot Shafts kits.
Does anyone know which one was correct for C1 Corvettes ?
I am thinking that the version in the middle photo with the end caps that have a recess around the zirc fitting is original and the other is a service replacement. Both have GM stamps.
Would judges even look at this ? The judging guide is not specific.
From a quality perspective, are the NOS or NORS parts noticeably better ?
