Hello, I just started to get my 66 ready for the upcoming show/cruise season. Is there any way to remove small scratches from the hubcaps? I was going to use real fine grit sand paper, then polish with Flitz. Is there a surface applied to these hubcaps that I may damage? Is there a preferred procedure to remove these scratches and polish the hubcaps? Thank you in advance for any and all help, John

I would start with Flitz or Simichrome. Stay away from any grit, if possible. You state "small scratches"...I'm reading that as "light scratches". Depending on depth of scratch, the Flitz or Simichrome should produce satisfactory results.Leif

Re: 1966 Hubcaps
John, if your fingernail can catch the scratched surface you'll likely need something more. than a normal polish. I have repaired some minor scratched surfaces using 1500 grit and then 3000 grit with a orbital sander and then a polisher with some like mothers metal polish or just about any metal polish.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
