Yes, to attend on Sunday at Milford you have to register for the Regional. It's NCRS rules that any event under the Regional banner has all NCRS members registered. I suspect it may be for the event insurance policy as well as other reasons.

As an update, event tickets can be purchased (almost) up until an event begins.
So, if you don't judge on Thursday, or your car isn't judged, or you get done with your judging assignment you may buy a ticket that day and hustle over to the GM Heritage Center for the afternoon.

The only event that closes ticket sales a day early is the Milford Tour, as we need a head count for Sunday breakfast by noon on Saturday. That is when we will stop selling tickets.

      Patrick,

I believe Dave P’s question is about registering (Sportsman, Flight, etc) your Corvette in order to do Miliford. I’ve have same question.
Looks like you’ve put together a great Regional.

      Thanks

        Ah.

No, you do not need to register your Corvette - but you must drive a Corvette for the Milford event.

          Reminder -

To take part in any of the extracurricular activities (Heritage Center, Lingenfelter, Milford Proving Ground, etc) you must register for the Regional as well as each separate event. You cannot register just for one of the extras without registering for the Regional.

          Thanks.

Re: Motor City Regional June 7-10 (Michigan)

Currently scheduled for the Welcome Reception on Thursday evening are the 1955 Corvette "mule" (Ken Lingenfelter), a 1965 Corvette which is described to be the first Corvette built with L-88 engine (Gino Burelli & Ken Kayser) and 1969 Corvette L-88 racer clone built for Tony Delorenzo (George Haddad). There are more being invited, possibly several Callaway race cars of different generations.

In addition, former engineers, technicians and racers involved with these cars are being invited to attend. I suspect that there will be a discussion held that evening as well.

As they say... more to come.

Reminder - registration closes in 2 weeks.

Also please note - any signoff (Bowtie, Crossed Flags, American Heritage) received at our Regional will be good through the 2019 National Convention, per previous approval by Dave Brigham. This makes it good for 13+ months as opposed to the usual 1 year.

Re: Motor City Regional June 7-10 (Michigan)

FYI, GM is now limiting us to 50 cars for the Milford Proving Ground tour. Currently we have 45 cars registered.
If you're interested in going, I would recommend registering for it now, and not waiting until you arrive.

Also, given that most classes only have 1-2 cars I would recommend signing up ahead of time for the GM Heritage Center tour on Friday, June 8th if you are interested in going to that event. The 1965 class has 5 cars, and would be the only class I could imagine not being done on time.
If you wait until you arrive at the Regional there might not be a lunch available for you on Friday as part of the package. We need to turn in our final count before the Regional begins.

Re: Motor City Regional June 7-10 (Michigan)

There is a rumor that there is no on-site parking for cars, and that everyone must take the shuttle.

In reality, there is room for 125+ cars on the side lawn, and that is the plan. There will be a parking area well demarcated for anyone who parks at the Annex where the Regional is being held. So, only those who have no other transportation will have to use the shuttle from the hotel to the trailer parking and/or the Annex.

                        See you in a week.

No limit on the number that can attend Lingenfelter or the Heritage Center.
And, unless you have or are judging the 65s, you will be able to make the Heritage Center.
We are adjusting the Advanced Judging School time so that it runs straight from 9-1 on Friday and counts for the day, rather than 2 hours each in the morning and afternoon.

FYI, trailer unloading will now occur onsite (actually next door) at the Annex, and not at the trailer lot 2.5 miles away.
So, plan on registering at the Hotel, then going directly to the Annex to unload your car if trailered.
Those driving will also first stop at the Hotel to register.
