    1968 L 36 A.I.R. Pipe Assembly

    Is there a source to repair what the A.I.M. calls "Pipe Assembly" for the A.I.R. system ? To me it's a manifold. One of the ends that threads into the exhaust manifold is damaged and needs replaced. Or do I just try to find another part? I need the passenger side, the A.I.M. lists R/H 3917252 and L/H 3889377 , which is passenger side? Thanks in advance Rich

          I think this has come up before. As I recall, someone reported that Bill Hodel, who is a preeminent AIR system components restorer, no longer repairs these AIR tubes. If so, I don't blame him. I think that repair of these tubes would be very problematic for a variety of reasons.

                      Please post your findings. I also have air tubes which the nuts need replacement.

                          I spoke with Bill Hodel today and he says that he is no longer able to repair these pipe assemblies. He subcontracted this work and the person who did it for him had some serious health issues and wasn't able to continue. If anyone knows of another source for this work please let us know. Rich
