    65 Radio Rebuild

    Can anyone recommend a C-2 radio rebuilder that will rebuild my original 65 radio and put in options like Bluetooth ect? I talked to Classic Car Stereos and they have a radio ready to go with what I want but Id' rather stick with my original. Has anyone installed one of the C-2 radios from Classic Car Stereo or a competitor that supposedly fit and look original? Any suggestions and feedback would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Re: 65 Radio Rebuild

    At least your radio can get FM. I had my original AM radio rebuilt.
    With only AM you better be a fan of talk radio or County Music as in my area those are the only options.
    The air ways have changed a bunch since the early 60's.
    I typically keep it off and listen to the sweet sound of the solid lifters.

    Their are several companies that use the stock radio face and controls with modern guts.
    I have not used any conversions and am not making and vendor recommendation but check out this link;
    radios for old cars, stereo conversions, radio upgrade, collector car audio

    This maybe this is what you are looking for?

      This is what I have in my 1965 it has stereo out puts so you can add speakers, Bluetooth, phone compatible and it is undetectable for NCRS judging.

        I have the identical setup in my 63 and it passed regional judging...you have to turn off your cell phone during ops check or the radio will beep when it finds a paired Bluetooth device, AND, you can't use an original style speaker. Other than that its a nice conversion with voice-activated calls and Siri capability, and it uses the Aurora circuit board but the original dial mechanicals. If you ever convert the radio light to a BA9 LED bulb do not insert it too far or it hits the bar for the dial and blocks its full movement... (Ask me how I know.)

        Gary Tayman out of Florida did my conversion...
