Thanks Jack. From the wording in the booklet, it looks like you answered the question what year the 5 year/50k mile power train warranty was first offered...

Didn't see it in the 1969 booklet though. Did I miss it or not offered that year?

I reread the 1969 warranty and it does feature a 5/50 power train warranty; see below. So it appears 1967 is the first year for this extended warranty(?)

dan, turns out the mirror was a great idea. frankly, i didn't have much hope for it. it took awhile to find the right
combination of lighting and stick w/ mirror taped to it but it worked.
the number is 3959512, apparently, typical of "CE" prefix motors as well as others.
