I have the complete and original AIR system on my 1971 LT1. Checking through the components (air pump, diverter valve and check valves), I realized that the diverter valve is broken. It does not hold any vacuum. Does anyone know how to contact Bill Hodel, who seems to be the quintessential AIR guy? Are there any other guys who might be able repair/restore diverter valves?
By detaching the air outlet on the side (a triangle shaped box with three holes on it), the internal mechanism seems to be quite clear. As far as I know, the rod in the middle is supposed to extend at the presence of high vacuum to close the air passages to exhaust manifolds. Please see the pictures. Basically my diverter valve stays "open" all the time regardless of any vacuum.
