66 coil spring ID paper tape

Peter,
I tried a Kirkland/Costco plastic wrap toothed cutter on two brands of painters tape, standard Scotch blue and FrogTape yellow. The results came out quite well for the FrogTape, which feels noticeably thinner than the Scotch blue, which came out much less well. I assume the thicker the material being cut, the less acceptable the result will be. If the repro coil spring ID tape cuts as well as the yellow painters tape, I think this technique would be acceptable to most people. It would be acceptable to me for sure. FYI, the Kirkland cutter has 19 teeth per inch, which would be an improvement over using 2mm pinking shears, which would yield 12 or 13 peaks per inch.

placed a current repro tag against the tape cutting surface ... tag face down with protector in place.
I secured the tag with scotch tape on the protector backing side and then ran a plastic pen barrel across the backing firmly so the cutters would cleanly imprint in the tag surface. Then removed a bit of the backing so the perforated/cut tape is exposed - I then took a broad faced pliers and grasped the tape along the serrated cut line and pulled the cut portion away from the tag revealing the new 24 point cut edge. I think it looks close to the previous original tags contained in this thread...far better then the big 5 peak cut on the repros.
