65 250hp with power steering. I have crank pulley 3744043 and add on pulley 3751232. They do not fit together correctly. I think I need 3850838 instead of 3744043. Can anyone confirm. Thanks Ed

I do not understand why the 3744043 and 3751232 do not fit together. The 3751232 should "nest" in the 3744043. You will note that the 3744043 has two raised, circular extensions. These should mate with holes on the 3751232.
The 3850838 has the same extensions and will also mate with the 3751232. However, I don't think it was the pulley originally used for your application. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: 65 pulleys
Looks like previous owner may have tried to bolt pulley on misaligned. They dimpled the bolt holes. I straighten out holes and fit looks better. Curios should there be a gap between the crank pulley and the add on pulley at the v belt slot outside diameter. I have none.- Top

No gap as I recall. However, the rear of the 3751232 needs to be in complete contact with the mating surface of the 3744043. If you can see no gap between the pulleys at any point of their circumference the chances are good that you have it right. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
