Re: Distributor Rebuild
Michael,
I believe Harvey passed away last August. He did a distributor for me several years ago which still works great! Unfortunately I don't have contact information on his son. Harvey was a very nice man and a real loss to our organization.- Top

Re: Distributor Rebuild
I just had my 63 FI distributor restored by Don Baker, it looks like it should be in a museum and came with all the specs from his testing. Absolutely the best in the business in my opinion!Attached Files- Top

Re: Distributor Rebuild
Don's wife recently had surgery, and he told us that he was not accepting new work for a while.
You definitely want to call and see if he has restarted.Vice-Chairman (West), Michigan Chapter NCRS

Re: Distributor Rebuild
Funny comment by Mr. Lawson. I thought the exact same thing when I got mine back from Don. John DeGregory restored my fuel injection unit and his first comment when he got it was "send your distributor to Don Baker, he's the best". Well, John was correct. Incidentally, John happens to be the best at what he does too. When I got the FI unit back I thought "this thing should be displayed in some kind of museum". When I got my distributor back I thought the same thing. These two guys are definitely the best and a credit to our hobby. Nuff said!!- Top

Re: Distributor Rebuild
You are too kind Terry. I am so lucky to have Don as a very close friend. When I do a restoration I do not have to see the distributor. I can assume when Baker does the restoration its better than than the manufacturer.
I was going to say better than NOS friends.
This statement makes my note worth reading. The NOS fuel injection distributors are made up of parts on hand at the time. They have the incorrect cam. The incorrect curve and the housings were made from a different company. They are service replacement.
One is better off having an original one restored and passing on NOS. John- Top
