        I'll join in on the fun ... Doesn't it look like the stamping is actually raised, not indented? If so, how the heck did they do that? Doesn't even look like a machined cast iron surface either after close examination of the picture.
        That's a first for me!

        As I look at it a number of times, sometimes it looks stamped, other times it looks raised ... sorta like that gold vs. blue dress picture a couple of years ago ...

          Bill,

          That raised look, especially of the 4 and 5, is a classic optical illusion.

          The raised edge along part of the 1 is from too deep of a stamping; adjacent material mounding up.
