I recently removed my glove box from the dash to get access to the windshield wiper pivots. I didn't change anything about how the liner fits to the frame or even loosen those screws. I didn't change anything regarding the hinge or even loosen those screws. All I did was remove my glove box from the dash, and when I put it back in place today I see a gap. I will admit that it is VERY possible the gap existed before I removed the glove box because I didn't look as critically at the door-to-dash-pad-fit then as I am now. I've loosened all the GB frame screws (pic 10) and the support screws (pix 8 & 9) down by the VIN plate and body tag and have tried to "push and hold" the entire assembly to the right while tightening the screws but there is no movement and subsequently no improvement. Am I missing something? Maybe my dash pad is the culprit in that it doesn't perfectly match the perimeter of my glove box door, making it appear that my GB door is too far left? Car is a 67. Any suggestions for how to improve this? Am I being too critical? Is this not uncommon?
Here is a video showing the gap with the GB door closed.
