    66' Fan blade shade

What shade of black are the fan blades on a midyear? Flat, semigloss or gloss?

I would call it a "gloss". However, it's not a FULL gloss.

Gary, I agree, it's a gloss black, just not a shiney high gloss. Bill.

I believe those very accurate descriptions would be referred to as "Semi-Gloss" Black, the same term used in the Judging Guide.

Thanks guys, Some of the newer blades come in gloss black. I was almost sure that the right shade was semi-gloss and that's what I painted it. It looks fine.

If full gloss could be considered 100% gloss, zero gloss/flat considered 0% gloss and semi gloss considered 50% gloss, I would put the level at about 75% or 80% for a fan blade.

              Mike,
Just to have some fun here... what is satin? ...25%. Then what is the name for the 75%- 80%? Sami-gloss?

I dunno. I've never seen spray cans of black that were anything but flat, semi gloss/satin or gloss.

I used to mix my own black for all the different amounts of flat for different parts.
