Checkered flags on hup caps

Can some one tell me what color the upper left corner of the checkered flag is on 65 & 66 hub caps? Long Island has both so there must be a difference and I can't find my 65/66 JM.

On page 57 of the judging manual the manual says the right flag is the typical black and white checkering with either black or white starting in the upper corner of and ending in the lower corner. Hope this helps.

In all the originals that I've seen over the years, the upper left corner was black.
Starting some time in the later 60's, all replacements, including the same plastic insert in horn caps, were the opposite. The upper left corner was white.
