Yep, so did I and last week I called up their Tech Support and requested one Firestone Super Sport bias ply tire. I told him I wanted one without the DOT marking on it.

He told me have they DID do that for about a year, with a a big sticker on the tire which says...this tire is for display purposes only and should not be drive on the road.

However, he then told me that the Feds busted them about nine months ago, they didn't care about the warning sticker. They said people will drive them on the road anyway. PT

Well it was nice of the feds to look out for us hobbyists like that wasn't it?

What is the big deal? It is just a little rubber stamp that idiots like us will try to remove anyway . . .

I agree with some of the other members, the 3 points are not worth it. Safety should be the more prevalent issue.

I personally don't see any difference, but hey that's just me!

            Terry,

Donald was asking a very typical question that might apply to any reproduction part or even how to best restore an original part. Trying to restore our cars to what they were when they left the GM Plant and finished dealer preparation is what the NCRS judging standards are based on. Nothing nefarious in that.
