Did you know that Jan Berry (Jan and Dean) was driving a 1966 Corvette (see attached) when in April, 1966 he hit a parked truck in Beverly Hills and sustained severe head injuries, with brain damage and partial paralysis? It would be 10 years before he and Dean would perform together again. He died in 2004 at age 62. Saw this posting on the net in inresponse to a question.
"Well, Jan's '58 Vette, which was severely damaged in the Bel-Air fire of '61, is still around. Jan had the car refurbished and sold it to Jim Blanchard in 1963. Blanchard fully restored it, and still owns the car today.
As for Jan's Vette after the accident in '66 . . . I imagine it was too badly demolished to repair. After sitting up at Park Lane Circle, it was sold for scrap. I have the documentation detailing this."
"The Little Old Lady" was recorded 5/14/1964 so we assume it was a '64 Dodge 330 Charger...a 119 inch wheelbase B-body Polara but with two rather than four headlights. Limited research though.
