Advice needed on engine internals worth. 69 350/350

    I rebuilt my 69 Corvette's 350/350HP into a 383 stroker.

The motor clearly had been rebuilt before as all of the internals look very good. The Crank is the Hi-PO and has been magnafluxed with stock specs. it has the painted Pink Rods etc.

My question is, is this worth selling as a complete rotating assembly +, or is it just worth selling the bigger ticket items like the Crank and Rods.

    I have:
    Oil Pump
    Timing Gear
    Timing Chain
    Cam
    Lifters
    Tappets
    Rods
    Pistons
    Balancer
    Hi-Po Crank

Pretty much all of the internals. Just wondering what's the best approach whether selling all together, or seperating some or all.

Also, any recommended minimum reserve I should set is appreciated.

    Thanks

In my opinion, the main items of value are the crank and connecting rods. The harmonic balancer, if it's in good shape, might be worth a few bucks, too. As for me, I'd NEVER purchase any of the other parts used. However, there are probably some that would.

For some reason unknown to me, folks seem to be willing to pay good money for the "pink" connecting rods. That's good for you and bad for them. You see, quite awhile ago GM replaced all 350 connecting rods, including the expensive "pink" rods, with forged powder metal rods. A set of these rods is available under GM #12495071 and GM lists for about 360 bucks, but can be purchased for less than $300. These rods are more than twice as strong as the "pink" rods and are nearly perfectly weight-matched. So, why pay Big $$$ for a used set of pink rods, likely requiring resizing, when you can get a new set of rods requiring no further work and being twice as strong for less than 300 bucks? But, some will. So, take advantage of that insanity.

Makes sense to me. Rods and Crank it is. Thanks Joe.
