        Shooter,
Unless one of the NCRS employees tells you it is still mailed in Fulton, MO, don't be so sure. I just got a mailing from the printer (I am still on their mailing list) and there is an option to mail from Bolingbrook, IL. I don't know if that was done with this issue -- but the mailing of periodicals is no longer as simple as it once was.

What you thought NCRS was the only organization having issues with the USPS?

          Terry,
The reason I mentioned Fulton was because that was where the postage paid label on the back of Driveline said it was from. I remember someone here on the board posted last summer while they were at the Nationals in St. Charles they may drop in on the Driveline publisher since it was only an hour or two from St. Charles. Perhaps they are just published in Fulton, shipped somewhere else and then mailed from another location.

This is in NO WAY meant as ANY criticism of Vinny, Eric or any other NCRS member or non-member who is involved in editing or publishing the Driveline or Restorer. As many have already commented the articles in both are SECOND TO NONE!!

The problem is AFTER they show up at the USPS. I'm sure those responsible for putting the publications together have gone around and around with the postal service over the crappy service they provide. And I'm sure it falls on deaf ears at the post office when there is a complaint.

You are right on all counts.

When I was Editor we had the same issues, and during my tenure we changed to the printer in Fulton. Back then they were mailed in Fulton.

The magazines are mailed from the printer in Fulton...and like Henry mentioned...I toured the site last year when I was at the convention...and was very impressed with the operation...and it's been updated with even newer state of the art equipment since last summer...and to add to what Terry said...when I was interim editor in 1998 after John Amgwert resigned I sent my files to Ovid Bell in Fulton...and if I can recall correctly we changed to Ovid Bell shortly before John resigned.

When I took over in 1999 we used another printer in MO, I can't remember the name now, but the first 3 or 4 issues I did were with that printer -- then we went of OBP about 2000. That other printer opened a new facility, and I recall touring that location as they were bringing it on-line.

There was another thread a month or two back discussing USPS. NCRS has tried all the alternatives that are within reason in cost to enhance the delivery. We tried "sack" mailing which was supposed to speed delivery. We are mailing the bagged issues Periodical rate which is supposed to be faster than Bulk rate. Every time we try to enhance the delivery it seems all it does is cost extra money for mailing with very little, if any improvements.

                      Vinnie, Terry and Dick,

You guys have went WELL BEYOND what an organization should have to in order to get publications delivered in a timely fashion.

Since you guys make the Restorer and Driveline SO ENJOYABLE if I didn't know better I'd think the reason delivery takes so long is because EVERYONE at the USPS that handles can't resist reading it!!

                      Don't stop what you're doing.

It's taken WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long, but FINALLY, some excellent information about the little known 56 SR1 cars. And for many years, it has seemed that certain NCRS folks would prefer these cars remain unknown and unaccepted by NCRS members.
And so for those of you who have attempted to suppress any knowledge of these St. LOUIS, FACTORY ASSEMBLED (emphasis on FACTORY) 56 SR cars, what do you have to say about it now????????????

Driveline and Restorer arrived here in Findlay, Il today!!

The front page article with John being inducted into the NCM Hall of Fame was outstanding and well deserved. Us "newbies" and "oldtimers" both can count on John's expertise when we need advice about our great hobby.

Also impressive was the article about Vinnie taking possession of his new 09. He looks pretty sharp in that driver's seat!! Good article Vinnie!!

Well its Saturday the 21st of March and I am down the road from Gessner and still no Drveline/Restorer. Is it destiny or just the USPS? Go figure.

Still frustrated and waiting in Charlotte, NC. What's the argument for not putting the Restorer online with the Driveline? I'm assuming it's just a money issue since it might hinder sale of the electronic CD version.

Finally received my Driveline/Restorer today in Evergreen Park, IL. We are a close in suburb of Chicago, so all of our mail goes thru the Chicago main post office. This means longer than usual delivery times. As others have said the long delivery time is usually the fault of the USPS. My wife works in the direct mail industry and there is no relief in sight on the timely delivery of periodicals and 3rd class mail.
