Yup - final approach to Kai Tak was like a carrier landing!

A couple of years ago a friend sent me a YouTube video collage that showed the problems pilots had landing at Kai Tak. Several scraped wingtips. At least one hit the engine nacell hard enough to damage it. Several blew out tires. If it's still around you should watch it...amazing.

Jack, not sure about Gaddi's, but there are some fine restaurants in The Pennisula. We celebrated New Year 1995 there and is as usually the case, the wine tab for dinner exceeded the meal tab.
          Best regards,

Now, maybe someone will comment on whether or not Gaddi's is still in business. That was, perhaps, the finest restaurant I've eaten at in any of my travels around the world!
Yes, I just checked and Gaddi's is still in business. I haven't eaten there so I should check it out one day.

THANKS! I've been there twice and the waiting line for reservations ran about one week...

It's a VERY unique restaurant with a rotating stage in the center floor... You get the impression while dining they're giving each table a private orchestra!

I told Dad this evening to look for your 63 next time he's in town. He was just in HK last month, due next in April again for his spring business trip. Also, he's dined at Gaddi's though it was on a trip 30 years ago.

Been seeing that "SWC" in relation to mid-year vettes but for the life of me, I haven't figured out what it stands for. Been around C-1 most of my life but think the mid-years are awesome cars. Can someone respond without making me feel to dumb?
