    C1 Headlight Buckets

I have a few questions pertaining to the headlight buckets on a '61 I was hoping someone could help me with.

    1. Should some king of sealer be used to seal the headlight bucket to the body? I don't see any listed in the AIM, but the bucket doesn't seal completely to the body.

    2. According to the judging manual and the archives, the backside of the headlight bucket should be covered with undercoating. What brand is everyone using? I have some 3M rubberized undercoating, is that satisfactory? If not, what should be used?

    3. How much undercoating should be used? Was the headlight bucket completely covered, or was it the typical factory light coating with some missed spots?

    4. Was blackout paint applied to the backside of the headlight bucket over the undercoating?

    Thanks for the help.

    1. No sealer.
    2. 3M will work.
    3. Varying degrees of coverage. Usually quite heavy.
    4. Probably got hit. Pretty hard to tell.

      Ed,

Thanks for the information. I will be taking care of this over the weekend.
