Through what media did you buy your vette?

How did you buy your corvette, dealer, ad in newspaper, internet, word of mouth?
I bought my 74 through a friend who knew a guy who knew a guy with a car for sale.

Bought my 96 new from a local dealer, which later lead me to buy my 70 on Ebay. Never regretted either purchase!

Bought all three Corvettes new from dealers, although the 2008 was quite a story -- now that I think of it, they all were quite a story.

I purchased my '67 from an Ad in the NCRS Driveline several years back. Had looked at shows, meets, auctions, eBay, online, etc and even burned frequent flyer miles looking at cars.

The car I bought from the driveline ad was only 20 miles away from my house.

I bought my 66 from a private party through an internet ad. It might have been www.usedcorvettes for sale.com

I bought my 68 from a friend because when I saw it I said "You should sell that to me because I know you don't like red cars". A year later he did.

I bought my C6 ZO6 from a dealer in the town in upstate NY where we were visiting and I was hanging around the dealership and liked the guy. I figured if I was going to buy a new car I would buy it from him.

#1. 1954 Corvette: I was driving my '55 Corvette (#236) back and forth to work (nearly 40 years ago). A co-worker said that his ex-wife had a friend who had a car that looked just like mine. One thing led to another and my Dad and I became the 2nd owners of a 63000 mile '54. I have it to this day.

#2 1960 Corvette: Everyone knew that Buddy had a fuelie put away in a barn in South Carolina. One day word got out that he wanted to sell the car to raise money to buy a house. I left work early and went to see the car. FI unit was in the trunk. Original engine was over in the corner. And a station wagon load of NOS parts were queued up ready to go with the car. That was 31 years ago and I still have the car.

Good topic for replies. Here is mine.

I bought a '63 roadster in 1972 after getting out of the Army; paid $1,400 for it. We did a body-on restoration and one thing I was missing was an original radio antennae. I remembered that a guy in Stevens Point, WI had an ad in a past issue of Vette Vues Magazine.

I dug out my old issue and found the ad, called the guy and he said, "let me check in the barn to see if I have any left." He called back and said he did. I bought one of those from him, and, before he got off the line he said, "do you know anyone who would like to buy a '66 coupe? I ended up trading him our roadster, a mid year rear-end, and $450 for the coupe, and that was in March of 1977.

Bought my 95 from a used car dealer (traded in my 68 911 that I couldn't stand).

Bought my 69 from a buddy when he bought a 66.

Each of mine were all used and seen in local Chicago newspaper want ads.
The three sold were by: friend of a friend wanted my '62; coworker of my Dad bought my first '73, and NCRS Driveline on the '67.

I got my 70 LT-1 from a friends brother in law who bought it in 78 and had parked it in 85. My friend had mentioned it a couple of times and said his BIL will never sell it or fix it.

in 1972 I was 17 years old and my next door neighbor came home with a brand new '72 coupe and was giving neighborhood kids some rides, my turn came and its something I'll never forget.
I bought the car from him in December of 1996 with 38,000 miles on it and I still have it today.
