I don't really see them coming off with the pin in place. I will be looking for some correct hubs and spinner's though. Tom

With all 4 spinners' OFF direction CCW, there's a danger that Tom's driver's side spinners could come loose from wheel rotation. The danger is obviously less with the addition of the safety pin, but we'd sure hate to test that idea.
Nope. There's no safety issue. Direction of wheel rotation has no effect whatsoever on the spinners. The spinners will only loosen up if:

The wheel is mis-indexed on the adapter.

      The spinners aren't tightened properly.

The holes in the wheel for the drive pins are "egged-out", allowing play between the wheel and the drive pins.

John, if there is no problem using the adapters and spinners on either side irregardless of how they are marked, why are they manufactured for left and right? Unless I am mistaken, K/O wheels on other marques are also made for left and right use. I would agree that loosely attached spinners and wheels indexed incorrectly are the most frequent cause of Corvette spinners coming loose. I just keep left on left and right on right.
        Just wonderin'

          Charlie -

We may never know, unless some designer wanted the spinners to be whacked in the same direction on both sides (whack the top ear rearward to tighten on both sides, whack it forward to loosen on both sides). Remember Mopars had RH threads on driver's side lug nuts and LH threads on pass. side lug nuts for many years back in the day? There was no viable engineering reason for that either, and they changed it.

I didn't mention the hubs (adapters) because you don't remove them when you change or remove a wheel. -Clark
